A Menu That Celebrates Flavor

The menu at Steinchen boasts a delightful selection of both vegan and vegetarian offerings, alongside an array of snacks and beverages that cater to every palate. Customers rave about the classic weiße Würste, tender and flavorful, served with a generous portion of soft pretzels. Pair this with a homemade lemonade infused with elderflower, mint, and a touch of lemon for a refreshing sip on a warm day.

Those with a love for local brews will find joy in sampling the Augustiner Helles or the flavorful Hopf Weißbier. Each drink complements the laid-back vibe of this cafe, with prices that won’t make your wallet flinch. And for those sweet cravings, indulge in the selection of cakes and cookies that promise to add a sugary note to your day.

Patrons Speak Highly

The positive reviews from satisfied customers bring Steinchen to life. Perla Muñoz cherishes the welcoming seating arrangements, praising the quality of food, while Ece Erc, although critical of the homemade lemonade, still appreciates the cafe's cuteness and weather-friendly vibe. TH3 TR/\V1R highlights the artistic touches throughout the cafe, enhancing the communal feel, while Joanna eagerly recommends visiting for the cultural events that are commonplace. This blend of food, culture, and community makes Steinchen not just a cafe, but a true cultural center.

I have been there twice, and I will always come back. They have enough seating outside, and a few inside. The place is suitable for friends, families, couples. It is good located and they have a good offer of snacks. I ordered weißwürst the last time and they were fresh and delicious, and for a reasonable price. Coffee was also good, although the cappuccino could be a bit bigger. The snack portions are small, but it is not a place to get dinner, it is a place to drink and take a snack. The personell is very nice.

Very cute place to hang out in good weather. I wish there were more places like this in Munich. I ordered a “homemade lemonade” (see pic) and a hot chocolate. The so called lemonade is just water+holunder syrup and a piece of lemon and some mints thrown inside it. This is NOT what a lemonade is, and i can’t believe i paid almost 5€ for it. Also the hot chocolate was tiny. So i guess here you pay for the ambiance and the chance to sit outside, not for great drinks. I didn’t have food so I can’t tell if the food was good or not.

Opened just a few weeks ago, this place is relaxed and nice to hang out at. It's great to have a spot like this in Laim, true city feeling. The decoration is quite well done including some work of local artists (if you know MUCA, you'll recognise them). Food is mainly snacks (somewhat like Tapas with cheese, hearty sausages, olives, dips, bread, etc.) and sweets (cakes & cookies). Beer is also local brew. Prices are absolutely resonable, staff friendly, service fast. In winter, the owners plan to also be open and offer mulled wine etc. Looking forward to it! Highly recommended!

Café Steinchen is a fantastic spot in Munich, especially if you’re planning to hang out with a group. The open seating setup is perfect for casual gatherings, and there’s a great selection of drinks to choose from, something for everyone! Getting there is super convenient too. You can just hop on Tram 19 from Munich Hauptbahnhof (Hbf), and it’s only about a 15-minute ride. Whether you’re looking to relax with friends, enjoy a group activity, or just have a good time in a chill atmosphere, Café Steinchen is a great choice. Highly recommended!

Really cool outdoor cafe. I love the ambiance and the vibe of the place. Very chill! I would love to have more variety of food options but if you want some snacks and coffee and soak the sun then it’s a perfect place. Carry a book with you!

Super place! Nice garden/outdoorsy easy hangout with some drinks, some treats and small eats. Great place to hang out. Dogs welcome. Lots of space. Looks like they regularly have plenty of cultural events going on as well. If the weather is good, recommend spending some time with friends here in an afternoon/evening. Obazda was very nice and big portioned! Needed two pretzels to finish it.
